Wonder Woman was a smash hit when it released to theaters this past June, with the character recently returning in Justice League.
After the success of the movie, it was announced that Patty Jenkins would be returning to direct a Wonder Woman 2 and now she has given some teases about that very movie.
The first Wonder Woman was set during the World War I era and featured the story of Steve Trevor crash landing on Themyscira and then Diana returning to London with him.
Without going into too many spoilers, that era is definitely wrapped up, so we've been wondering just where a sequel may go.
Rumors have been saying for awhile that it may be set in the 1980s, but we have no real idea on how true that is.
While Jenkins hasn't given us details on the time period, she has given us a few more details in Variety's Playback podcast, text of which has been provided by Collider.
"It's got great fun from the start and great big superhero presence from the start, and is funny and a great love story again and a couple new unbelievable characters who I'm so excited about, who are very different than were in the last movie."
It is definitely interesting to see mention of the movie having a great love story again, as we know how the first movie ended and yet Diana still seemed to be dealing with the outcome of that in the present time scenes we got.
The more exciting part is the new unbelievable characters though, as the first movie did a fantastic job at surrounding Wonder Woman with a great cast of characters beyond Steve Trevor.
Not only did we get the very enjoyable Amazonians, but also the characters in London as well that made the movie all the more enjoyable.
Wonder Woman 2 is currently scheduled to be released on November 1, 2019, after recently being pushed up by a month and a half.
