Much like many other comic book movies, Venom has one post credits scene that sets the movie up for a potential direct sequel. The movie's director, Ruben Fleischer, explains in an interview more about the scene itself.

Bear in mind, major spoilers are talked about in this article so click away if you have not seen Venom yet. If you don't care, you can simply read the rest of this post.

Anyway, Ruben Fleischer talked about the post credits scene during an interview with Cinema Blend. You can read about the details he said about the movie posted down below.

He was the first person I thought of to play Cletus Kasady. And what will be fun is, if you think about Woody in Natural Born Killers, and that darkness and that menace that he can bring to a serial killer like Cletus Kasady, you know, he can go real dark and explore that. Carnage is going to be... just thinking about Venom pitting off against Carnage is just so exciting. And hopefully fans leave the movie really looking forward to that next one. Because I think also just seeing Tom and Woody go head to head, you know, those are two great actors that I think can really create some exciting scenes.

Woody Harrelson plays the role of Cletus Kasady at the end of the film where he is stuck in prison.

The post credits scene hints that Kasady will break out in the sequel so he can wear the Carnage symbiote in the next movie.

Sony has not announced a Venom sequel yet because the movie's Box Office earnings has yet to be revealed. Hopefully the movie does well as I think it deserves a sequel with a higher budget.
