Marvel Studios has now released the first official trailer for Captain Marvel which is releasing worldwide in March 2019. This will be the first MCU movie in history that features a female main character as the lead.

Academy Award winning actress, Brie Larson, has been cast in the role of Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers in the new movie.

The trailer gives us a small look at the many costumes she will wear and some of the powers that the character possesses.

One of the more interesting things about the film is that it's set in the '90s so we will see retro locations such as Blockbuster Video and other relics of the past.

We also get to see a much younger Nick Fury, although Samuel L Jackson will still be playing the character.

The trailer did not give too many details about the story of the movie, but the Skrulls are making their debut in the MCU and they are the main advertised bad guys in the movie.

They should not be too problematic for Captain Marvel though because she is supposed to be the most powerful character in the current MCU.

Anyway, you can check out a small synopsis of the movie posted below. It should be one of 2019's biggest movies.

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

This will not be the only time we will see Captain Marvel in the cinema next year as the character will also be back to play a vital role in Avengers 4.

She might be able to help out the existing Avengers to reverse the damage that Thanos did in Avengers: Infinity War.
