Venom is an interesting movie mainly because there seems to be a different reception towards the from audience members over critics.

Critics have been hating on the movie so far, but the average movie goer seems to be liking the film.

As you can see on Rotten Tomatoes, the critic score is currently a very low 31 percent. This is a huge difference to the audience score beside it which shows average movie goers have given Venom a score of 89 percent!

Over on Metacritic, the numbers are also favoring fans over critics. Critics scored the film an average of 35/100, but the audience is a bit more generous to the movie giving Venom an average score of 6.2/10.

As reported by Deadline, the Cinemascore for the movie is quite favorable too.

The movie got a grade of B+ which isn't too bad, although it shares the same score that Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 got when they came out in 2007 and 2014 respectively.

The Box Office score for Venom is looking great as it's exceeding expectations and could earn well over $75 million or $80 million in its opening weekend. This could mean that word of mouth is more positive than what was originally anticipated.

There has been a difference in opinion towards blockbusters recently as critics and audiences don't have the same taste.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi was loved by critics, but a large portion of the audience hated that movie.

Venom on the other hand is the opposite of The Last Jedi as critics hate it, but average movie goers have been loving it so far.
