Avengers: Endgame To Be Re-released Next Weekend

Currently the highest grossing movie of all time (unadjusted for inflation) is James Cameron's Avatar movie. Well that movie might be dropped if Avengers: Endgame can overtake it within the next few weeks.

When Avengers: Endgame opened, it earned an astounding $1.2 billion in its opening weekend. Many people thought the film would have easily surpassed Avatar in a short amount of time.

However due to strong Summer blockbusters released in May and June, the overall gross for Avengers: Endgame slowed down drastically.

The slow gross of the movie caused many to assume that Avatar would keeps its top crown for another decade or so.

Now it looks like Avengers: Endgame will finally overtake Avatar as Kevin Feige has confirmed with Screen Rant that the movie will be re-released next week with some extra footage. You can read Feige's comments posted down below.

"Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises. Which will be next weekend."

Avengers: Endgame needs $44 million more worldwide in order to surpass Avatar. Avatar itself earned an additional $33 million back in 2010 when it was re-released as well with extra footage.

Bear in mind this is all unadjusted numbers. If the numbers were adjusted with inflation, Gone with the Wind still remains the highest grossing movie of all time with over $3.4 billion!
