The review embargo for Terminator: Dark Fate has now been lifted and now we know what the movie will be like. Judging from early responses, it looks the the critics are mixed!

As seen on Rotten Tomatoes, Terminator: Dark Fate has been rated 59% on the aggregate website. 17 reviews are positive, but 12 reviews are negative.

The average score for the movie is 5.28/10 meaning we are looking at many 2.5 star reviews or thereabouts. You can look at the Critics Consensus posted down below.

"Terminator: Dark Fate represents a significant upgrade over its immediate predecessors, even if it lacks the thrilling firepower of the franchise's best installments."

It appears many critics think the movie is the best since Terminator 2 which is a good thing. That being said, the movie is not as good as The Terminator and Terminator 2 according to reviewers.

"More than two decades have passed since Sarah Connor prevented Judgment Day, changed the future, and re-wrote the fate of the human race. Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes) is living a simple life in Mexico City with her brother (Diego Boneta) and father when a highly advanced and deadly new Terminator -- a Rev-9 (Gabriel Luna) -- travels back through time to hunt and kill her. Dani's survival depends on her joining forces with two warriors: Grace (Mackenzie Davis), an enhanced super-soldier from the future, and a battle-hardened Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). As the Rev-9 ruthlessly destroys everything and everyone in its path on the hunt for Dani, the three are led to a T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) from Sarah's past that may be their last best hope."
