The Batman has gone through a lot of changes ever since Ben Affleck decided to no longer direct the film.

The movie is now being directed and written by Matt Reeves who was responsible for the more recent Planet of the Apes movies.

The film has now reached a major milestone because it's being reported by Heroic Hollywood that the script has finally finished. The site's Editor in Chief, Umberto Gonzalez, provided an update on the matter via his Twitter profile.

"LIL BATMAN UPDATE: The studio loves Matt Reeves' first draft of his BATMAN script, he is currently doing revisions & the film is being eyed for a hopeful summer 2019 production start. Of note, the current DC regime is committed to getting this take on the Caped Crusader correct!"

This is a great achievement since the movie has had a rough production schedule. At first Ben Affleck was directing and writing the script, but he's no longer involved in the movie.

Not to mention ever since Matt Reeves was brought on board, Ben Affleck will no longer be the star of 'The Batman' as the film will focus on a much younger version of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

The Batman is expected to be its own standalone film that is not connected to the wider DCEU. DC Films is doing a new strategy to its portfolio after Justice League failed to impress at the Box Office.

For now, DC is busy working on a number of different movies. In the near future, expect to see Aquaman, Shazam, Joker, Wonder Woman 1984 and more.
