Sony Pictures has not even released Venom yet, but the Hollywood studio is already thinking of making more movies based on famous Spider-Man villains. The next villain in the pipeline is Kraven the Hunter.

As reported by Collider, a Kraven the Hunter movie is in the works and the script will be done by The Equalizer 2's Richard Wenk.

While plans are underway for the film, things will not go into far production until after the release of Venom later this year.

Sony wants to plan its own cinematic universe based on Marvel characters that they already own. Since Spider-Man is currently being shared with Disney, Sony can make solo films for his many villains that they still have their hands on.

Outside of Venom and Kraven the Hunter, previous reports also say Sony is interested in making a film based on Silver Sable and Black Cat as well.

It's worth mentioning comic books are still the most popular movie genre at the moment so Sony is doing everything it can to capitalize on the current boom.

Their plans all rely on the Box Office receipts for Venom released later this year on October 5th, 2018.

There's a chance Venom could be a sleeper hit because one of its trailers is the most watched Sony Pictures YouTube video of all time.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see if a Kraven the Hunter movie eventually gets made.

It might be a big gamble since Kraven the Hunter has never been as popular as other Spider-Man villains such as the aforementioned Venom and Carnage just to name a few.
