Deadpool 2 Projected To Currently Have A Huge Box Office Weekend Opening

The first Deadpool movie that came out back in 2016 broke numerous Box Office records to become one of the highest grossing R rated movies of all time.

Well interest for Deadpool 2 is at an all-time high that the sequel could break the records that were set by the first film.

As reported by Deadline.com, Deadpool 2 is currently projected to have a Box Office opening weekend of over $150 million. This is around $20 million more than the opening weekend of the first movie which released back in February 2016.

It's worth mentioning the $150 million opening is based on current industry estimates and aren't from 20th Century Fox. 20th Century Fox is just currently projecting a weekend that will be over $100 million, but that number is sure to get bigger.

In either case, the numbers are looking great for Deadpool 2 just three weeks before its release on May 18th, 2018. It does not look like Avengers: Infinity War is going to affect Deadpool too much with its opening weekend.

If Deadpool 2 manages to gross over $150 million in North America, it will have 20th Century Fox's biggest opening weekend of all time domestically.

The only movie studios to have over $200 million openings are Disney thanks to Star Wars and Marvel and Universal Pictures thanks to Jurassic World.

The only major competition that might halt Deadpool 2's success is the release of Disney's Solo: A Star Wars Story.

This is because the new Star Wars spinoff is out a week later and caters towards a similar kind of audience.
