Even though early projections predicted that 'A Quiet Place' would win the Box Office this weekend, a late surge has caused Rampage to take over the lead and become number one instead.

As reported by Box Office Pro, the movie Rampage is estimated to have earned over $34.5 million this weekend making it the number one movie of the week.

This is slightly above 'A Quiet Place' which earned $32.6 million in its second weekend out in cinemas nationwide.

Rampage is getting mixed reviews from critics, but the movie is actually doing better with movie goers. It received a Cinemascore of A- and should earn some decent money before Avengers: Infinity War drops on April 27th, 2018.

The worldwide gross for Rampage so far is decent thanks to a good opening over in China with a debut of over $55 million. The total gross for the film worldwide now stands at over $148.6 million.

Another movie doing well overseas is Ready Player One which is also distributed by Warner Bros. The fun Steven Spielberg movie now has a global tally of over $474.8 million worldwide.

Aside from Rampage, the only other new release that came out is Blumhouse's Truth or Dare movie starring Lucy Hale. The film made over $19 million in its opening weekend which is okay considering the movie only cost $35 million to make.

Next weekend will also be pretty quiet as every movie studio is trying to avoid Avengers: Infinity War. That movie has the potential to overtake Star Wars: The Force Awakens to have the biggest opening weekend of all time!
