Mortal Engines and Bumblebee are two movies that will be out later this month and the films both have different ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.

It's surprising to note that Bumblebee is getting good reviews despite the Transformers franchise being poorly received in the past.

Anyway, the Peter Jackson produced Mortal Engines releases in North America first on December 15th, 2018. The Rotten Tomatoes rating for the movie is only at a measly 34% so far. Only 13 reviews are positive with the other 25 being negative.

The average rating for the movie is a 5.7/10 meaning that you are looking at mainly 2 star or 3 star reviews. The critics consensus can be seen down below.

"Mortal Engines has no shortage of eye-catching special effects, but lacks enough high-octane narrative fuel to give this futuristic fantasy sufficient cinematic combustion."

Many reviewers have criticized the story, the pacing and excessive use of CGI. The movie isn't expected to make a huge splash this weekend since it will be competing against Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Things are looking better for the Transformers Bumblebee movie as its Rotten Tomatoes rating is a very healthy 96% as of time of writing. 22 reviews are fresh so far with only one negative review.

This is a great start for a Transformer movie because all of the Michael Bay directed movies have had rotten reviews.

The average score for the film is 7.5/10 so there are many three to four star reviews. The critics consensus has been posted below.

"Bumblebee proves it's possible to bring fun and a sense of wonder back to a bloated blockbuster franchise -- and sets up its own slate of sequels in the bargain."

Bumblebee will be released in North America on December 21st, 2018. The movie is coming out on the same day as Aquaman!
