We may have to wait two more weeks until the public gets a chance to see the Transformers Bumblebee movie, although critics had a chance to see the movie already.

The initial social media reactions to the movie are positive so far.

The Michael Bay Transformer movies have historically had bad reviews from both critics and fans. Only the first movie that came out in 2007 was liked more than the rest of the series.

While as reported by Heroic Hollywood, the first critics seem to like Bumblebee more than most of the other movies in the series.

Mike Ryan from Uproxx tweeted that fans will love the first five minutes of the movie as it features the G1 transformers. He also loves the fact that Soundwave has the original voice actor.

Erik Davis from Fandango said that this is the best Transformers movie ever made and that actress Hailee Steinfeld makes a standout performance. He also really loves the setting which is in the '80s.

Lastly, writer Chris Sylvia said he loves the movie's "characters, treatment, heart and even explosions". This is just a small sample for what is to come when the full reviews are posted sometime later this month.

You can read a small synopsis for the film posted down below.

"On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug."

Bumblebee will be released in North America on December 21st, 2018. The movie stars Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena.
