WWE NXT Takeover: WarGames 2 was on this weekend and it did not disappoint. Despite only having five matches on the main card, the event itself still managed to be close to three hours long

The night kicked off in a surprise match as new NXT superstar Matt Riddle beat Kassius Ohno in a match that only lasted 7 seconds long. Matt Riddle is a wrestler you should look out for as he's really talented.

The first proper match was Shayna Bazsler successfully defending the NXT Women's title against the feisty Japanese wrestler Kairi Sane. The match was two out of three falls and the it went to the wire at the end.

Although the match itself was good and decent, it did not have a clean finish.

This is because Bazsler's friends Jessamyn Duke and Maria Shafir kept interfering in the match. Not even Sane's friends Dakota Kai and Io Shirai were able to help out.

My favorite match of the night was the classic bout seeing Johnny Gargano face off against Aleister Black in match that went over 18 minutes long.

The match was awesome because it had a fast pace and there were no boring rest holds or other slow moves.

At the end of the match, Aleister Black got his revenge by doing his Black Mass finisher on Johnny Gargano. This was one of the best wrestling matches I have seen all year long.

While the event was awesome, my least favorite match of the card was the NXT Title match between The Velveteen Dream and Tommaso Ciampa.

The majority of the match was good, but I felt they kicked out of too many moves at the end of it.

I don't mind watching near falls, but sometimes it gets overdone. Tommaso Ciampa got the victory at the end though. We'll probably see Ciampa vs Black very soon.

The second best match of the night was the Undisputed Era facing up against the team of the War Raiders, Pete Dunne and Ricochet! While this War Games match was not as the good one from last year, it was still an action packed match with weapons and lots of high spots.

The match went for around 47 minutes long, and it felt kind of slow at the beginning.

It wasn't until when everyone came inside the ring did the match pick up. My favorite wrestler from the match had to be Ricochet who pulled out a double moonsault towards the end!

Since the Undisputed Era won the War Games match last year, the other team of the War Raiders, Ricochet and Pete Dunne won this year's match in a long and exciting match.

Hopefully they consider booking an even bigger War Games match next year.

Overall, NXT Takeover: War Games 2 was exciting from the beginning until the end. It may not have been a perfect show, but it was far better than most of the main roster PPVs that were staged in 2018.

Verdict: 9.0/10
