Chris Hemsworth To Play Hulk Hogan In Biopic

Netflix is to make a new biopic based on wrestling legend Hulk Hogan. The person that will play Hulk Hogan is none other than Avengers: Endgame star Chris Hemsworth.

The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported on this story and the Netflix Hulk Hogan film will be directed by Todd Phillips. People may know Todd Phillips as the director for the 'Joker' movie starring Joaquin Phoenix.

Sources say that the Hulk Hogan biopic will be an origin story focusing on the earlier years of Hulk Hogan's career.

Hogan was the most famous professional wrestler in the '80s and put the World Wrestling Federation on the map.

In the '90s, Hogan switched to work with WCW and became a heel character for the first time in his career.

This period was also popular because Hogan was in the faction called the NWO alongside Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.

It was not until recent years did Hogan's popularity started to fade away. The most recent controversial incident was him getting caught saying the N word in a derogatory manner during a sex tape.

The Netflix biopic won't have that incident because it's focusing more on the earlier years of Hogan's career. There's still no release date for the movie, although we should know more details of it later this year.

Hulk Hogan was rehired from the WWE last year and apologized for saying the N word among other things. He's only made sporadic appearances for the company, but he's not blackballed from WWE like he was a few years ago.
