WWE Hell in a Cell 2018 was a surprisingly good show that featured unpredictable results and finishes. It even saw the return of Brock Lesnar in the main event which surprised pretty much everyone.

It was initially thought that Brock Lesnar was leaving WWE to fight full time in the UFC, but he is back and it looks like he wants his Universal Title back from Roman Reigns.

Lesnar attacked both Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman with their match ending in a no contest.

The main event itself was kind of boring until Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins interfered. Rollins and Ziggler even crashed through two tables to excite the crowd.

I'm a little disappointed Roman vs Braun ended in a no contest, but at least they are protecting Strowman from losing from a clean finish. It's possible we will see another Roman vs Brock match in the near future though!

Earlier in the night, the best Hell in a Cell match from the PPV was the contest between Randy Orton vs Jeff Hardy. Orton even used a screwdriver to poke a hole into Hardy's ear in a horrific scene.

At the end though, Hardy crashed and burned by falling off a ladder letting Orton get the pinfall victory. It was an entertaining match from start to finish, although I have to admit the finish did look a little sloppy.

Probably the best result of the night was Becky Lynch finally capturing the Smackdown Live Women's title by cleanly beating Charlotte Flair in an okay match.

I'm glad WWE is giving Becky Lynch a chance and hopefully she can keep the title for longer than a month.

The Raw Women's title match wasn't as good because Ronda Rousey had to sell "injured" ribs to make Alexa Bliss look strong.

The match itself was kind of slow and boring, but it was nice to see Rousey winning with an armbar at the end. Now Rousey can move on to bigger and better opponents.

Another surprising result was the way AJ Styles retained his WWE Title against Samoa Joe.

AJ Styles looked like the heel because he tapped out from Samoa Joe's coquina clutch. However, the referee did not see the tap out and AJ Styles won by pinfall.

I'm actually hoping Samoa Joe wins the WWE Title in three week's time when they have a rematch. I'm a fan of AJ Styles, but I think it's time Joe gets a title reign for once.

Another great match was the Smackdown Live tag-team title match with The New Day retaining their titles against Rusev and Aiden English on the pre-show.

It looks like Rusev and Aiden English could be breaking up soon judging from the finish that was booked.

The Raw tag-team title match was better as Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler stole the entire show. Their match was starting off really slow, but it picked up towards the end.

The finish was cool because McIntyre did his claymore kick to Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler rolled over to get the pinfall victory. I'm hoping a rematch happens in the near future because these four exceeded expectations.

Another match that exceeded my expectations was Brie Bella and Daneil Bryan vs Maryse and The Miz. I wasn't looking forward to the match, but these four actually did an entertaining effort.

The finish was surprising because Maryse pinned Brie Bella fair and square to get a victory for her team. There's no doubt this feud is going to continue for the weeks to come as these characters still hate each other.

Overall, I thought Hell in a Cell 2018 was a good PPV and it was far more entertaining than SummerSlam 2018.

Sure not every match was perfect, but the whole show was entertaining throughout. Hopefully they can maintain the momentum when WWE goes to Australia in three week's time.

Verdict: 7.0/10
