Social media is usually seen as a good thing because it allows people to communicate with each other instantly from anywhere around the world.

Sadly though, this comes at a price because it means trolls and other toxic people can harass other people online constantly.

As reported by Comic Book Movie, the latest celebrity to see the ugly side of fandom is recently cast Batwoman actress Ruby Rose.

Despite starring in The Meg out this weekend, Ruby Rose decided to delete her Twitter profile and disable her Instagram account.

Ruby Rose tweeted out one last message before deleting her profile. You can read what she had to say posted down below.

"Where on earth did ‘Ruby is not a lesbian therefore she can’t be batwoman’ come from?” she tweeted. “I came out at 12? And have for the past 5 years had to deal with “she’s too gay” how do y’all flip it like that? I didn’t change"

The main reason some fans have been toxic is because some of them don't categorize Ruby Rose as someone that is 100% lesbian. It's a weird scenario, but Rose got sick of all the negativity and decided to take action.

Ruby Rose is yet another celebrity that has had to limit or delete or social media profiles online.

Titans star Anna Diop also disabled her Instagram comments recently after people did not want to see a black woman play the character of Starfire.

Even Star Wars actresses Daisy Ridley and Kelly Marie Tran deleted their Instagram accounts due to a lot of people online harassing them for various different reasons.

In either case, it's unfortunate many online people are harassing lots of celebrities just because they get cast in big roles and projects.
