WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle will retire from in-ring action this Sunday at the WrestleMania 35 PPV against Baron Corbin.

Originally, Kurt Angle wanted John Cena to be his last opponent ever in WWE but sadly this did not happen as of yet.

During an interview with Gorilla Position (via ProWrestling.com), Kurt Angle wanted WWE to select John Cena as his final opponent. You can read his comments on the matter posted down below.

"I was hoping it was going to be John (Cena), but it didn’t happen. I am sure he has another match in mind, but I wanted him to end my career just like when he started, I started it.  It was a good little storyline but unfortunately, that’s not how it worked out.I love John and I know he will have a WrestleMania match, I’m not sure they’ve announced it yet but I am almost positive he’s going to be there."

John Cena's first opponent in WWE was Kurt Angle back in 2002 so Cena being the man to retire him would have made perfect sense.

Unfortunately, WWE has decided against that and has chosen Baron Corbin to be Kurt Angle's retirement opponent instead.

There is still some hope that John Cena will be involved.

This is because John Cena is still scheduled to appear at WrestleMania 35 even though WWE has yet to announce him to be booked in an official match at the show of shows.

For now, the current match is Kurt Angle vs Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35. Let's hope WWE changes its mind in the last minute so we can get Kurt Angle vs John Cena instead!
