The first Box Office prediction has been made for Star Wars: The Last Jedi's opening weekend in North America. Unlike the Justice League, the new Star Wars film is expected to exceed expectations.

As reported by Deadline, early tracking shows that Star Wars: The Last Jedi could open as high as over $200 million.

It's not expected to outgross the $247.9 million weekend that Star Wars: The Force Awakens got two years ago, but it is expected to be the second highest opening of all time in North America.

Both Jurassic World and Marvel's The Avengers are the next biggest weekends of all time grossing $208 million and $207 million respectively.

Deadline says unforeseen circumstances could hurt the Box Office opening for Star Wars: The Last Jedi for it to dio lower than the $200 million mark.

This could include things like bad weather among other things. The Mayweather vs.

Pacquiao fight caused Avengers: Age of Ultron to gross $191 million in its opening weekend which is lower than the first movie.

The Dark Knight Rises earned $160 million in its opening weekend, but it could have been much higher if it wasn't for a tragic shooting.

Still despite unforeseen circumstances, The Last Jedi is expected to be the highest grossing movie of 2017.

It is still tracking higher than Disney's own Beauty and the Beast which had a decent opening of $174 million. The Last Jedi won't have a shock low opening like Justice League which sadly only mustered a $93 million opening weekend.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released in North America on December 15th, 2017. It is the 9th live action Star Wars movie, although it's Episode VII in terms of the main series timeline.
