Due to the unfortunate death of WWE Hall of Famer “Mean” Gene Okerlund, Hulk Hogan is returning to Monday Night Raw to honor the life of one of his best friends in the business.

Gene Okerlund sadly died a few days ago at the age of 76. Many wrestlers including Hulk Hogan commented on the death via their official social media accounts. He was by far the most popular interviewer in professional wrestling history.

WWE made the announcement for Hogan's return over on WWE.com. You can read the written statement posted down below.

“Let me tell you something, ‘Mean’ Gene …So began many of Hulk Hogan’s most memorable proclamations, making interviewer and backstage personality “Mean” Gene Okerlund a cornerstone of Hulkamania in the 1980s. Now, in the wake of Okerlund’s recent passing, Hogan returns to WWE programming this Monday night on Raw to honor his longtime friend.Hogan and Okerlund’s friendship spanned the decades, from WWE to WCW and back to WWE. On Monday night, Hogan honors his brother. Don’t miss this milestone moment on Monday Night Raw, beginning at 8/7 C on USA Network."

This is the second time Hogan is appearing in WWE ever since he got fired in 2015 for making racists remarks during a leaked sex tape. He first appeared as a guest host in Saudi Arabia for the Crown Jewel event.

Since Gene Okerlund was such a popular figure, it's unlikely fans will be booing Hulk Hogan for his appearance. That said, there are still people within WWE that have yet to forgive Hogan.
