As the release of "Southpaw" nears, Jake Gyllenhaal stopped by to talk about the film, his friend Adam Levine, Taylor Swift and more during Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show.

Stern started things off by discussing Gyllenhaal's choice to become an actor when his sister Maggie was already in the business.

Gyllenhaal told Stern that he wasn't sure if he would be into acting if his sister wasn't pursuing it as well according to a MarksFriggin report.

Among the discussion of the start of his career were mentions of his older films like "City Slickers," "Brokeback Mountain," "October Sky," "Everest" and of course "Donnie Darko," the cult classic, as well as roles he went out for like "Batman" and "Avatar." Later on the conversation moved into Gyllenhaal's friendship with Adam Levine.

"Jake said he's friends with Adam Levine too. Howard asked if he's shocked that he got married.

Jake said that he never thought it would happen and it gives him hope. He said he went to elementary school with Adam," according to MarksFriggin.

"Howard said everyone went to school with him. Howard said the looks with the guitar playing is lethal. Howard asked how old he was when he lost his virginity. Jake said 14 or 15.

He said Adam was like 'You're 6 years late.' Howard said that's pretty young. Jake said it was something like that.

Howard said he was such a dick at 14 he wasn't able to put that together. Howard said he had a girlfriend at 14 but he wasn't able to put that together."

He also told Stern that Levin is a real gentleman, according to the rundown. He spoke of their friendship like any other one and revealed that Levine also likes to golf.

"Jake said they'll watch a movie or something. He said they have a best friend in common and that guy takes care of Adam's house when he's gone.

Howard said he has to hang with them.

He said that he'd ask Adam's wife to model for him. Howard said that Adam and Jake can go watch TV and he'll go up and have Behati model for him," according to MarksFriggin.

Gyllenhaal even told a story about losing his virginity with a girl "was playing a song on the radio and she said that's the song she lost her virginity to but it wasn't a song that he knew."

In regards to "Southpaw" Gyllenhaal said that the role was written for Eminem, however, he was working on an album at the time.

Gyllenhaal also said that because of the trainign and fighting in the film he's become a fan of the sport.

In terms of the training, he said he trained twice a day for 5 months, according to MarksFriggin.

"He said he added miles for his road work. He was running like 8 miles a day. He said he was doing boxing training.

He said he sucked but he trained for 5 months and got better. He said it took 2 months to get the speed bag. He said he was sparring with people too," an incredibly rigorous training period.

As things wound down Stern mentioned that the "Good Morning America" played a Taylor Swift song while he walked out and Gyllenhaal made sure he nip Stern's joke about the two dating by saying "you don't even think about that," according to the rehash.

"Howard said Jake should have married Taylor Swift. Howard said that would have been some power couple. Howard said there's nothing sexier than a woman who can write a song and make a living doing it."

Swift is currently dating EDM DJ Calvin Harris.

So it looks like we'll never quite know what she and Gyllenhaal would be like as a couple, however, that doesn't stop Stern from joking about it. "Southpaw" is scheduled to be released this Friday July 24.
