The lead singer of the British alternative band Coldplay is making his return to the Howard Stern SiriusXM radio show. Chris Martin appeared on the show to talk about the band's recent endeavors and much more.

The last time Chris Martin appeared on the Stern Show was in 2011 and a lot has happened to the band since then. Coldplay released their latest album A Head Full of Dreams on December 4, 2015.

The album is an open message to spreading peace around the world. They even graced the stage at Super Bowl 50's halftime show alongside Beyonce.

Martin stopped by to perform on the show and from the fan reactions on Twitter, they really seemed to enjoy it. Stern kicked off the interview with Martin by asking him if he believed that Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins belonged in the Rock Hall of Fame and Martin did agree that Corgan should be in the HOF. Martin came bearing gifts for Robin Quivers. He told her that he brought some cookies for her as they were discussing the fact that after being a vegan for awhile, he is now mixing meat into his diet.

In terms of his songwriting process, Martin confirmed that he writes down everything that comes into his head for 12 minutes in the morning and it's also serves as a form of therapy for him as well. He compared it to a strategy that Albert Einstein used where he would write down his thoughts but throw them away.

It serves as only part of the writing process as much of it gets thrown away. Stern then asked Martin about going to a Sufi master and why he made the decision to do so.

"Chris said he likes to learn how people are happy and how they get there. He said you have to accept that you're not going to be happy all the time," according to MarksFriggin.

"He said you can't beat yourself up over being human. Howard asked if he thinks that we have to liberate ourselves and say it's just a thought.

Chris said that pop stars have to become famous to validate their lives. He said that's what it's like for him."

Martin later spoke about his divorce from Gwenyth Paltrow. He told Stern that there was a certain adrenaline rush that is hard to replace off stage. Martin addressed rumors that A Head Full of Dreams could be the last album. He didn't quite say that it was the last instead, he told Stern that you never know.

It does seem like a solo endeavor is not in Martin's mind because he liked the dynamic of performing in the band.

They spoke about A Head Full of Dreams and how it partially reflected the way Martin handled things after his break-up.

In the extensive chat Martin talked about some of the covers the band did and projects that he worked on in the past.

He performed a track called "Life on Mars" as well as "Viva La Vida," and "Hymn For The Weekend." It served as a perfect way to end a pretty big week for the Stern Show.
