It's not even 2016 yet but Deadpool fans will be getting a treat pretty early for the next 12 days. 20th Century Fox released a new video which shows the "merc with a mouth" surprising fans with news of the #12DaysOfDeadpool promo.

Some of the biggest sites in entertainment such as Entertainment Weekly, People, Empire and Mashable as well as Deviant Art, Deadpool Core, IMAX and many others will be participating in 12 Days of Deadpool. Each day, a new treat will be released leading up to a brand new trailer of the Deadpool film on Christmas day.

The hilarious announcement came from the mercenary himself as he sat in a chair sipping on eggnog.

"Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool," according to the caption of the video posted to 20th Century Fox's official YouTube Channel.

"Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life."

The Deadpool film has been one of the highly anticipated upcoming Marvel releases. The movie is scheduled to be released on February 12, 2016 and stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.
