Today, November 19, marks a big day for Howard Stern. Howard 100 News aired on this day, nearly a decade ago in 2005.

"We were at K Rock still," Stern remembers. "All we had was Howard 100 News. And if you remember, Bubba The Love Sponge was doing it, and Brent, his producer."

Stern remembers it was an exciting time. "The whole thing was so mysterious. What was the future going to hold, how is this thing gonna work," Stern said.

It was 400,000 subscribers at the time. "I could yell out my window and get more people than that," Stern joked. He wondered if it was the biggest mistake of his career or not.

"I really firmly believed it was not," Stern said.

"Every aspect of my life, I don't know what the f*** I'm doing, but when it comes to radio, I'm pretty good at figuring out what it is, what the trends are going to be, what the futures going to hold.

I thank god for that."

Howard 100 News started after Stern moved to Sirius Satellite Radio. "I was only hired by radio stations that were in the toilet," Stern said. Stern went from having millions of listeners to barely half a million.

"I said wow, this is it. This is another sh** situation where someone's coming to me and saying turn my life around. And it scared the f*** out of me because I don't want to disappoint anyone."

Stern sure has come a long way since. Congratulations, Howard!
