The Gifted Has Been Cancelled After Just Two Seasons

The Gifted used to air on Fox and was a great TV show featuring more of the lesser known X-Men characters. Well now it has been reported that the series has been cancelled and there won't be a third season.

This is to be expected since Fox merged with Disney. It's unlikely the show will be picked up on Disney+ since the company will be concentrating on its own slate of Marvel, Disney and Star Wars TV shows instead.

It's a bit unfortunate the series will never see a proper conclusion since Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger.

This is because the character of Blink was thought to be dead, but she came back from another timeline to warn the other characters of a new danger ahead!

The Gifted started off well gaining nearly 5 million viewers in the first episode, although viewers started running away by the time Season 2 came around.

The Season 2 final just only notched over 1.6 million viewers at the end which is a big drop in TV ratings.

The X-Men characters will have their last Fox produced movie with Dark Phoenix being released in June. After that, the X-Men will be totally rebooted by Disney featuring new actors and storylines.

You may have to wait for the X-Men to come back since Disney is still concentrating on the current MCU characters and storylines. More about Marvel's future will be announced after the release of Avengers: Endgame on April 26th, 2019.
