As he continues to ramp up the promotion for his new comedy series Lopez, George Lopez paid the Howard Stern SiriusXM radio show a visit to chat about the series, Donald Trump and more.

Lopez and Stern began their conversation by chatting about how Lopez still writes his own material and prefers to work alone rather that have a team or writers. Lopez actually did a Funny or Die sketch where he pretended to be Donald Trump in a Spanish form with the name Donald Trumpez.

Lopez continued to joke about Trump on the show and even poked fun at his stature. Trump wasn't the only presidential candidate being discussed either.

"Howard asked George about Rubio and Cruz. George said that if they had these immigration laws they're talking about their parents wouldn't have been able to come to this country," according to MarksFriggin.

"George said they can all go to these markets and stuff but if all of the Mexicans left you wouldn't see a blueberry again for years."

Stern wanted to dive into Lopez's personal life a bit which seemed pretty rough. Lopez said he did not know his father and both his mother and grandmother suffered from dementia, which means he could end up with it as well. He also told Stern that he no longer affiliates himself with any of his blood relatives.

A day prior to his interview with Lopez, Stern paid his respects to Garry Shandling with a segment in remembrance of the comedian. He asked Lopez if he know Shandling and Lopez did actually meet him back in 1979.

In more presidential talk, Lopez revealed that he was supporting Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders but expressed how important it was for everyone to actually go out and vote.

The two quickly jumped back into their discussion of comedians and their paths which included Jay Leno, who Stern has been very vocal about in the past.

Both Stern and Lopez agreed that Leno was a great comedian until he got on late night television and "back-stabbed."

"Howard asked George if he's still in touch with Sandra Bullock because she was his savior when she helped him get a show," according to MF.

"Howard said that she discovered George and produced his George Lopez show that was on for 6 seasons.

George said he's not in touch with her so much these days. He said that she's got a lot going on in her life."

Lopez said when he did get his own show, he got a lot of hate for it. He actually had to get an acting coach for the show and was almost replaced when he was struggling with kidney problems from 2004-2007.

Stern and Lopez continued a pretty detailed and open discussion with a ton of punchlines. Lopez is scheduled to premiere on March 30, via TVLand.
