When news of Garry Shandling's death became public, comedians all over the entertainment industry began paying their respects. Today, Howard Stern paid his respects to Shandling by remembering him on his SiriusXM radio show.

Before Stern began discussing his admiration for Shandling, he revealed that there would be an autopsy done because there still isn't a concrete cause of death.

This is especially true because Shanding's doctor won't sign off on the death certificate raising more questions about the celebrated comedian's death.

"Howard said he thought Garry was the best. He said he used to watch him on the Tonight Show and he was great," according to MarksFriggin.

"Howard said they had him on the show a few times too. Howard said he did an interview with him on his E! Interview Show.

Howard said that was before the regular E! show they did. Howard said Garry did the show and he agreed to do it immediately. Howard said he was very grateful for that."

Stern remembered not wanting to be on late night television shows but he told his listeners that he simply could not pass up being on Shandling's The Larry Sanders Show, which happens to be returning to HBO.

He also remembered Shandling's first crack at The Tonight Show and how relaxed he was on stage. He continued to celebrate the life of Shandling with a couple of clips from the show.

"Howard said he asked Garry about how the Hey Now thing came about," according to MF.

"Howard played a clip of Garry talking about how he didn't come up with it himself but his co-writer came up with it for Jeffrey Tambor to do in his audition.

Howard said it's so great and brilliant. Howard said he saw that HBO is going to star re-airing those shows."

Stern's admiration showed through how much he knew about Shandling's career and his personal experiences with him. Shandling died at the age of 66.

Stern reported that Shandling called 911 when he believed he was having a heart attack.

By the time the paramedics got there he was laying unconscious. The outpouring of respect came from Shandling's peers which included Jimmy Fallon, Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen DeGeneres and many more who looked up to him.
