5 'What-if?' Characters That Should Be In Dragon Ball Xenoverse

The release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse is nigh. It is the most anticipated title based on the anime in years.

But let's face it; Dragon Ball video games haven't been gems recently. In 2012, we got Dragon Ball Z for Kinect. In 2014, we got Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z.

With two stinkers preceding it, Xenoverse will likely hit one out of the park by comparison. Everybody knows that the game will boast a cornucopia of "what if?" scenarios based on the television series.

Goku will fight Great Ape Vegeta and Great Ape Nappa. Vegeta will lead the Ginyu Force--turning them into the benign "Vekyu Force." Raditz will survive Piccolo's special beam cannon.

Dragon Ball games, however, have dabbled in the non-canon before. Consider Dragon Ball: Raging Blast--when we could play as Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta.

In addition, Budokai 2 featured a fusion between Tien and Yamcha. I don't know why you'd want to fuse two of the series' most inept fighters, but they did it!

Considering Xenoverse is already ignoring the canon of the series--something that is ever changing, anyway-- more characters such as the ones listed above should be included.

Below is a list of some "what-if?" transformations and characters I would like to see in Xenoverse.

5. Super Saiyan 3 and Super Saiyan 4 Future Trunks

I know what you're going to say, Dragon Ball fans, "Trunks is half human and therefore can't ascend to the higher Super Saiyan forms."

To that I say, "Who cares?" Toriyama has amended the Dragon Ball canon so many times that one more hardly seems egregious. Remember when Shenron couldn't revive someone more than once? I rest my case.

What would make this character is his Super Saiyan 4 form: The Super Saiyan 3 form would be an afterthought--something added as a necessary stepping stone.

A Super Saiyan 4 covered in purple fur and wielding a sword? Sounds good to me!

4. Super Saiyan 3 Vegito

This is something I never understood about the Raging Blast series; it gave us Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta to go along with Super Saiyan 3 Goku, but it never gave us an epic fusion to top it all off.

How should this be mended? By putting Super Saiyan 3 Vegito in Xenoverse.

3. Fifth Transformation Frieza

This may not be a "what if" transformation for much longer. The new movie F is for Fukkatsu will likely feature some sort of transformation from the most infamous Dragon Ball baddie that we've never seen.

Still, the movie is unreleased and Toriyama hasn't confirmed this. Hence, it should be included in Xenoverse.

2. Great Ape Broly

This would pretty much be the most terrifying foe in the Dragon Ball lore: The legendary Super Saiyan with a massive anger problem transforming into the feared Oozaru.

Would the fight be easy for the player controlling him? Of course. But isn't that the best kind of battle?

1. Super Saiyan Pan

This one has been a long time coming. There are already GT characters in Xenoverse. So we should put Pan in there, and give her a Super Saiyan form.
