Disney's 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' Crosses $400 Million Worldwide, Weekend Box Office

Rentrak Corporation, announced the official worldwide weekend box office estimates for the weekend of Aug. 17, as compiled by the company's theatrical measurement services.

Rentrak's Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian commented, "Disney's "Guardians of the Galaxy" crosses the $400 million mark worldwide as this, the latest Marvel superhero film continues to thrill audiences internationally adding another $33.1 million in 65 territories and $24.7 million in North America this weekend.

Audiences in 28 international markets shell out big bucks for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" in its second weekend as the film sets its sights on the $200 million global box office mark."
