The review embargo for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.

2 has now been lifted and the first reviews for the movie have now been posted online.

The general reception for the movie so far has been positive, although many reviewers note that the film is not as good as the universally praised first movie from 2014.

If you go to Rotten Tomatoes, the current rating (as of time of rating) for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is 85 percent.

This is based off of 47 reviews for the movie so far. 40 reviewers give it a thumbs up, while only 7 reviewers have given it a thumbs down. You can read the general consensus of the movie below.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's action-packed plot, dazzling visuals, and irreverent humor add up to a sequel that's almost as fun -- if not quite as thrillingly fresh -- as its predecessor.

Its rating is slightly below the 91 percent that the first film got. This may be due to the movie feeling a bit too familiar and the sequel not being as funny as the first.

I will be watching the movie later this week, so I will have my own review for you. I'm hoping the film delivers.

However, the release date for the movie is different for everyone else around the world. If you live in North America, the movie is not out until May 5th, 2017.

It is expected to have one of the biggest opening weekends in the year of 2017.

Early tracking suggests the film could go on to earn well over $150 million on its opening weekend in North America. If word of mouth is good, the film could earn $1 billion in total.
