It was already known that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.

2 was going to make a lot of money at the North American box office.

Now it's being reported that the movie could be even more popular than anticipated as demand for the movie is tracking better than that of Avengers: Age of Ultron two years ago.

As reported by Deadline, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has been the best seller on Fandango since April 24th.

The report even says that the movie's ticket sales so far are higher than the advanced sales that Avengers: Age of Ultron received. Age of Ultron went on to gross around $191.3 million in its three-day opening weekend.

The Guardians sequel could match that or be even higher if advanced sales keep up like this.

Word of mouth for the movie is positive so far as it has a healthy 86 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Not to mention the movie has already earned over $100 million at the box office in many international countries as we reported before.

One thing that can lead in Guardians' favor is that there is no big competition this coming weekend in North America.

As far as I can tell, it doesn't have to face competition from another big blockbuster or a major sporting event.

Age of Ultron's gross was lower than expected thanks to the boxing fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao that occurred during its opening weekend.

The first Guardians movie was really good, although it did not break records yet as the franchise was not a household name.

Thanks to the great reception of the first movie, the characters are now more mainstream and Chris Pratt has become a big Hollywood name. You can read our review of Guardian 2 by clicking here.
