YouTube Releases 'YouTube Rewind 2014': Top Trending Videos of the Year May Surprise You

As 2014 comes to a close, YouTube looked back at the top viral music, trends and culture that swept the Internet this year.

In a similar fashion to 2012 and 2013, YouTube released an official music compilation video which included sound bites from the year's hit music, mashed by DJ Earworm.

Clips from most watched vids, including The Colbert Report, Jimmy Kimmel and Conan O'Brien, graced the video, as well as celebrity appearances from top YouTubers like Grace Helbig, PewDiePie, Tyler Oakley, Jenna Marbles, Smosh, and Michelle Phan.

As part of the YouTube Rewind, the video-hosting site compiled the top 10 videos that received the most views over the past year on a global scale.

You can watch them online at youtube.com/rewind. They include the vide of the "giant mutant spider dog," the iPhone 6 bend test, and the StreetHarassmentVideo of the woman walking around New York City for 10 hours.

YouTube also compiled the world's Top 25 Trending Music Videos of 2014. This year's most-watched music videos include:
