Young Justice: Outsiders Delayed Till 2019

Young Justice originally debuted back in November 2010 as the beginning of a two season run consisting of 46 total episodes. The show was incredibly well received by fans, but sadly was cancelled after only two seasons.

After the series was added to Netflix a couple years ago, fans campaigned for the series' return and DC listened with the announcement of a third season coming that was later titled Young Justice: Outsiders.

The series was supposed to be returning later this year, but it has now been revealed that it will not be back until sometime in 2019.

This news came alongside many other pieces of news associated with the DC Universe streaming service, which Young Justice: Outsiders was supposed to be launching with.

However, the press release, which was provided courtesy of Newsarama, now states the series won't be returning until sometime next year.

For those interested in Young Justice: Outsiders, they also released a short description of the season, which stated that the series:

"Features the return of the fan favorite animated series with a huge cast of DC's most iconic young superheroes - plus brand-new characters, many of whom are just discovering their unique meta-powers and special abilities. Set against the backdrop of a rich, deep world that touches all corners of the DC universe, the season focuses on meta–trafficking, and an intergalactic arms race for control of these super–powered youths."

The original run of Young Justice never strayed away from serious subjects, and it sounds like being on a streaming service instead of Cartoon Network will allow it to perhaps get even darker with the inclusion of meta-trafficking into the mix.

This delay may be disappointing, but I'm sure the wait will be very worth it if it's anything like the first two seasons.

Needless to say, I have a feeling we'll be feeling more than whelmed when Young Justice: Outsiders arrives in 2019.
