The Ellen DeGeneres show is known for having some pretty touching and intense moments.

DeGeneres and her show try to exemplify what it means to do genuine acts of kindness without reciprocation. Without even having knowledge of it at the time, her game Heads Up! actually helped save a mans life.

DeGeneres told the fans that she got a particular letter from a fan from Arizona who was playing Heads Up! with his dad. While playing Heads Up!, Spencer noticed that there was something wrong with his dad Ferris.

DeGeneres asked Spencer to explain what happened and how the game saved his dad's life.

Spencer told DeGeneres and the audience that he was visiting his dad in Idaho and having a great time with the game one day. However, things changed the next day.

Spencer's dad wasn't able to read or react to the clues. They captured it all on video as Ferris struggled with the game. Once they realized something was wrong, they stopped playing the game to get his dad some help.

Ferris was actually having a stroke but there were no signs the day before that pointed to it. There was also no other signs aside from that of the game.

Ferris says he didn't remember too much but he remembered playing the game and not knowing much.

He couldn't understand what his son was trying to get to him and couldn't answer. Ferris said that the night before he had a tough time getting out of his bunk bed because he had no idea which way was up and which way was down.

He had a difficult time but found the ground in the morning. Both he and Spencer had headaches in the morning so Ferris didn't think much about it.

DeGeneres was confused as to why he was in a bunk bed in the first place. Ferris says he had a hard time reading during recovery last year so he reads everyday and it's starting to come back more. Spencer's dad is actually newly engaged and said it was hard to get his name in there because his fiance is popular.

He says when he finally got a hold of her he took two days out of her scheduled. He and his fiance will be getting married in May.
