What to do in Pirin National Park, Bulgaria

Pirin National Park, situated in the southwestern part of Bulgaria, is one of the most beautiful parks in Europe. It’s declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, and it’s truly deserving of the title. The park is named after the Pirin Mountain Range, which is considered the most magnificent mountain in Bulgaria.

The park covers over 40,000 hectares of land and features mountains, glacial lakes, forests, meadows, and the diverse flora and fauna. Numerous trails run through the park, perfect for hikers, trekkers, backpackers, and nature lovers. Without further ado, here are some of the top tourist attractions in the Pirin National Park:

1. Vihren Peak – The highest peak in the Pirin Mountain Range, Vihren Peak stands at 2,914 meters. Spectacular views of Bulgaria and Greece can be seen from the top.
