Tori Amos took time between the U.S. and Australian legs of her world tour to stop by the recording sessions for the official cast recording of her musical "The Light Princess."

The musical, with songs by Amos and and book and lyrics by Samuel Adamson, officially opened at London's National's Lyttelton Theatre Oct. 9.

Described in materials released to the press as a "dark fairytale about grief, rebellion and the power of love," it is directed by Marianne Elliott, most recently represented in London by Sweet Bird of Youth at the Old Vic and the ongoing West End transfers of the National Theatre's productions of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time and War Horse.

Amos told Radio.com in an interview recently that she hopes to bring the show to Broadway ("That's the plan, that's the dream"), and that she's already started work on the soundtrack.

"To be honest with you, we are making the cast recording now, I'm producing it for Universal," she said.

"In a climate where the record business the way it is, a lot of labels aren't making these cast recordings anymore, because of the time and the expense.
