Comedian Tom Papa sat in for much of the Thursday Opie and Anthony radio show.

The comedian/actor -- who most likely know as the former host of "The Marriage Ref" or for being friends with Jerry Seinfeld discussed his somewhat recent move from New York to Los Angeles.

Papa explained that he had to live in L.A. in order to be closer to potential television and film work. That does not mean he has to like it.

The comedian explained that the driving lifestyle in L.A. was isolating and that his wife was eager to move back.

He joked that whenever a TV show fell through or an acting gig went to someone else he would come home and boxes would be packed.

Papa did say that living on the West Coast was just fine by his kids but murder on his wife.

That misery is compounded by the fact that as a working comic Papa usually leaves the house Thursday for work not returning until Sunday or Monday.

The star seemed genuinely torn as to where to live as he is clearly a New York guy but he acknowledged that it's not feasible to attempt to be an actor while living in Manhattan.

He also seemed reticent to spend the money on a New York apartment for part-time living.
