With all of the turmoil and outrage over the losses of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, Chris Brown releases "My Friend," a new heartfelt song that deals with the struggle of loss.

Brown posted the song twice to his Twitter page.

In the second post Brown stated that, "This song I released for free for anybody dealing with injustice or struggle in their lives." Prior to that message Brown posed the question, "what is the world without love?" The song comes at a time when the relationship between the minority community and police is incredibly rocky.

"It's a slow-moving, heartfelt piano ballad that touches on the struggle you face after losing someone close to you-- whether that's in death or in another manner," commented HotNewHipHop.

Earlier on in the day, Brown also released a video on Instagram which shows him reacting to the two very recent deaths. The song really does pull at your heart strings and is one of those tracks that have a ton of relevance.

The meaning can be taken in multiple ways but over all the pain and sorrow can be felt in the song. You can stream/listen to Chris Brown's "My Friend" below.
