As Steven Tyler draws closer to the release of his new solo album We're All Somebody From Somewhere, the singer called in to the Howard Stern SiriusXM radio show to discuss the project, Aerosmith and more.

Tyler was in Nashville when he called into the Stern Show and immediately kicked off the call by plugging his album We're All Somebody From Somewhere. Stern wanted to know what was going on with Aerosmith and jokingly asked if they would be performing Oldchella, to which Tyler declined.

Stern continued to question whether or not Aerosmith was over but Tyler maintained that the band was not over and that he love it more than life itself.

He agreed that they were just on a little hiatus as the other members are also doing solo projects.

"He said Aerosmith still sounds good and in a couple of weeks they could be off and running again," according to MarksFriggin.

"Steven said He loves those guys more than life itself. He said He hopes they like this record. He said He hasn't spoken to those guys in forever."

Tyler is looking at his solo album as a good thing for the Aerosmith band.

He revealed that the new album is all over the place rather than just straight country.

Stern believes that a successful solo album could mean the end of Aerosmith, however, Tyler said that Aerosmith was simply too big for that to happen.

"Steven said everyone is still in the band and no one has left. He said that could be part of that," according to MF.

"Steven said He loves the band and He wants to squash the thought that they're over. He said they're going to do a farewell tour next year but that's just because it's time."

Meanwhile, the two later on got into the fact that Prince's death was a reminder to Tyler to stay sober. He did meet Prince in the past but they never hung out together.

The Stern Show interview was pretty extensive but you can stream/listen to some of the highlights in the audio below. Steven Tyler's We're All Somebody From Somewhere is scheduled to release on July 15.
