Star of The CW's "The Vampire Diaires" Steven R. McQueen treated fans to two behind the scenes shots from the shows set VIA Instagram.

The first of the two shots feature Christopher Wood who plays the newest villain Kai. The photo is wittingly captioned, "Is Kai digging for gold or wiping fake blood off? @christophrwood" as wood appears to be clearing his nostrils of some sort of blockage.

It shows Wood outside of his sinister role as the twin of Jodi Lyn O'Keefe's character Jo.

The Gemini coven has created a very dynamic storyline for fans to follow as the writers have been able to combine the other world with Mystic Falls.

The second shot happens to be Damon Salvatore himself, Ian Somerhalder, featured in a dark setting. Whatever it is the star is taking part in, he looks quite focused on it.

Damon and Elena look to be regaining their relationship after the cliffhanger of an episode two weeks ago. Yesterday Somerhalder held a Q&A session with fans of "The Vampire Diaries" and did so in the comfort of his home.

"Okay! Change of location! I was going to do this awesome Facebook chat tonight at 7 PM from the vampire diaries stages but I figured it would be more comfortable sitting cross-legged on my bed hanging with my animals...see you soon!" said Somerhalder in an Instagram caption.

"Here is the information! Taking your questions tonight live on Facebook at 7pm EST! And remember one lucky donor will get to ask me some questions in person on the set of the Vampire Diaries...hopefully they'll be juicy ones ;) http://bit.ly/Ian-Vampire Can't wait to chat with you all!"

As for McQueen, after going on a Best Pranks retweet session in early November, he is back to praising the writers for The CW's "Arrow" and "The Flash" along with the two actors Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin.

He also retweeted the Arrows Writers Room Twitter account who used the hashtag #Flarrow to promote the mash-up two night event fusing both shows.

McQueen has shown that he is very much immersed in the comic book world and his love for characters such as Nightwing, who he was once rumored to play.
