Selena Gomez stopped by "Ellen" Monday to push her new film "Rudderless."

She showed up in a surprisingly demure outfit -- a covering black dress with long sleeves and a high neckline.

She also talked about her new house and living alone.

"Now I can walk around naked," she said. "The best thing is being able to go into my own space."

Gomez also shared how she rented a boat for her 20th birthday sharing pictures of herself jumping into the ocean.

The singer also talked about how her friend Taylor Swift wants her to move to New York, though she said she's not ready to do so.

Before promoting the film, the singer/actor who has had some very public struggles, told Degeneres how she was doing.

"I'm a seven right now," she told Degeneres. "I'm trying to be the best that I can be...I don't want to let anyone down."

"Rudderless" was directed by Willima H. Macy, who co-stars with Gomez in the movie. It opens in theaters and on video-on-demand October 17.
