Pizza, Poop Face, Red Dress Dancer Nominated For 'Emoji Of The Year' Shorty Award

It's time for the 7th annual "Shorty Awards" to honor the best of the best in social media, and the running for "Emoji Of The Year" is, as you can expect, super intense.

Seven finalists will be selected by members of the Shorty Awards Nominating Board. Nominations are open until Thursday, February 19th, and you can vote for your favorites at shortyawards.com.

This year, "Emoji Of The Yea" is between seven (so far) popular emoticons we all know and love: "Flame", "Prayer Hands", "100 Points", "Poop Face", "Blowing a Kiss", "Pizza", and "Red Dress Dancer."

WHO DO YOU THINK WILL WIN? Pizza, probably pizza. But who really knows.

If you're like this journalist-ish person and never heard of The Shorty Awards before today, The Shorty Awards is an annual livestreamed award show honoring people and organizations who produce stellar content on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Youtube, Instagram, Vine, and everything else too.

They take place in April in New York City, and have seen the likes of Ricky Gervais, Jerry Seinfield, Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Kimmel as nominees and presenters. Whaaaa?

Winners are selected by a team of advertising, media and entertainment professionals who apparently know a lot of things about the social web. Isn't this fascinating!?!?!?

There are tons of categories, including Top Breakout Reddit Community, Fake Account, and Best Use Of A Meme. But obviously the best is "Emoji Of The Year."
