Next time you're in a dangerous situation it might be wise to think outside the box, the pizza box that is.

An online order to a local Pizza Hut saved one woman and her children from being held hostage by a man with a knife.

"Please help, Get 911 to me," read Cheryl Treadway's note in her order for large pepperoni pizza.

Pizza Hut employees at Avon Park, Florida's branch recognized the order because Treadway was a frequent customer however, the comments led them to call Highlands County Sheriff's Office to figure out whether or not it was a serious situation.

"We've never seen that before," the store manager Candy Hamilton told WFLA according to the Washington Post. "I've been here 28 years and never, never seen nothing like that come through."

When police arrived at the address they found Treadway holding a smaller child as she alerted them that her boyfriend, 26-year-old Ethan Nickerson, was in the house armed with a knife.

Nickerson had been holding Treadway's phone from her the entire day but finally let her use it to order a pizza.

"After she was escorted to safety, deputies approached the home. Lieutenant Curtis Ludden began to speak with Mr.

Nickerson through the closed door of the home. After about 20 minutes, Lieutenant Ludden was able to talk him into coming out peacefully. The other two children were then removed from the home, unharmed," according to the police report.

Nickerson was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon without intent to kill, battery, false imprisonment and obstructing justice by depriving communication to law enforcement.

There aren't many criminals that would let you order a pizza but if ever they do, you might want to take advantage of the situation and get some help.
