Was PewDiePie Falsely Quoted On New 'Dying Light' Posters?

Techland video game developer recently borrowed a phrase from PewDiePie for their Dying Light promotional posters, and PewDiePie is NOT amused.

On Wednesday morning, Pewds posted this comment to his Twitter account:

And in a brief Twitter conversation with fellow YouTube gamer JackSepticEye, he noted that he didn't remember talking about the game that way.

The quote appears to be taken from a paid advertorial video of PewDiePie playing the demo for the game:

At the end of the video he says, "I love this game, I can't wait for more of it to come out.

This game is so awesome, I really love it." The quote on the board isn't a direct quote, and more of a paraphrase.

In addition, because PewDiePie was allegedly paid for this play-through, it's not necessarily his accurate impression of the game itself.

While it did seem Pewds had a good time playing, considering the advertorial intentions of the play through, it's pretty shady that Techland would quote PewDiePie in this manner.

And considering PewDiePie's reaction on social media, he doesn't seem too happy to be quoted like this.

Almost every Gamer site out there has a strong opinion on this, and thinks it's a ton of b.s. Gamenguide.com said: "It's almost like we've gone back in time to the early days before video game journalism.

When the only way to know if a game was good or not was to ask your friends.

Now you can get your recommendations from the biggest bro on the internet." And HardcoreGamer.comwrote: "While the fact that YouTube Let's Players (even of PewDiePie's caliber) are being quoted on printed, official marketing material is aggravating enough, it's the quote itself that makes us bow our heads in shame."

Tsk, tsk. Poor form, Techland.
