Despite apologizing to fans who he may have offended after a response to a tweet from a critic, Justin Timberlake is still seeing backlash.
The backlash came after his response to a tweet from a user calling him out following his praise of Jessie Williams' speech at the 2016 BET Awards.
Below are a few of the exchanges and tweets at Timberlake who seems to have said his piece on the entire fiasco.
The debate is continuing to go on in the replies from fans who are trying to defend Timberlake against those who are referring to him as privileged.
Timberlake maintained that he was responding to Jessie Williams' speech from the perspective of the human race in its entirety.
"Scores of vitriolic tweets followed, with some accusing JT of hypocrisy, others calling him out for cultural appropriation, for shading Prince and for turning his back on Janet Jackson in her time of need more than a decade ago," according to Billboard.
"Timberlake, who has eight career BET nominations for zero wins, dug his own hole a little deeper with one rather dismissive response to reporter Ernest Jones, 'Oh, you sweet soul.
The more you realize that we are the same, the more we can have a conversation.'"
There has yet to be another response from Timberlake, however, chances are that may not come.
As for his future releases, there is no telling whether it is actually in any danger, since his recent single "Can't Stop The Feeling" is still enjoying success at number two on the Billboard Hot 100.
@jtimberlake remember this.. The year 2004 Janet Jackson got banned at the Grammys because you exposed her breast. pic.twitter.com/DlNu6e0QYf
