Actors Jonah Hill and James Franco are set to star in a new thriller, "True Story."

"True Story" is a fitting title because it is actually based on one.

It covers the events of journalist Michael Finkel who is a very controversial figure as he was fired from The New York Times in 2001 for fabricating a story.

This movie is a Sundance Official Selection and was produced by Fox Search Light. An indie for sure but with such big name actors it is sure to get attention.

Hill portraits Finkel which seems a bit of a departure for the usual funny man. But as we have seen with "Money Ball" and "Wolf On Wall Street" he can now hold his own in a serious role.

Franco on the other hand, plays the role of Christian Longo who murdered his wife and kids in Oregon. The movie is going to be telling the actual connection the two men shared.

Recently Franco is front and center in Hollywood news with Sony's decision to cancel The Interview. No doubt this role continues the tradition of random characters he has chosen to play.

Rupert Goold is directing who is a relative newcomer. He is best know for The Hallow Crown a BBC produced retelling of Shakespeare's Richard II starring Tom Hiddleston.

True Story is set for release sometime in January of 2015. It won't be in every theater so you may have to do some digging in order to see it. But certainly it will be one worth checking out.
