It might sound like something from an episode of Shark Tank but Nas, the famous rapper out of Queens, New York and his investment company QueensBridge Venture Partners company is part of a $4 million investment deal with Exo, a brand of energy bars made from crickets.

The Series A funding round also features investments from AccelFoods and the Collaborative Fund.

It's just one of the many investments that Nas has made over the years through his QueensBridge Venture Partners which includes major companies such as Dropbox and BitFury, to name a few.

"Exo currently sells its line of cricket-y protein and savory bars online and at Whole Foods and Legman's," according to Billboard.

"On its website, the company sells t-shirts that proclaim, 'Crickets Are the Gateway Bug' and 'Crickets Are the New Kale.'"

Meanwhile, Nas is still celebrating his partnership with Sweet Chick as they plan to expand nationwide. A couple of years ago Nas also opened a successful sneaker store in Las Vegas called 12AM Run.

It's more than hip-hop for Nas who is definitely keeping his options open in the business world.
