A short film produced by NYC-based artist collective, SHOCK AND AWE, set out to explore creativity in the era of digital excess, and created a mock PSA urging social media users to be mindful of what they support on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The film features a young artist/photographer in New York City, who's diligent work is later overshadowed on Instagram by a man who chose to "heart" a lady in a bikini instead.

"Every 'Like'/'Star'/'Heart' you give something is a vote to see more of it in the world," the video reminds.

The moral of the story? "Stop Rewarding Stupid Sh**," a sentiment everyone in the digital age could benefit from keeping in mind.
