On Tuesday, January 13, actress and comedian Melissa McCarthy (The Heat, Bridesmaids) joined Twitter, and already garnered a following of 83.6K.
McCarthy joined the Twitterverse to participate in a live Twitter chat for "Spy: The Movie," with the film's writer/director Paul Feig, and in a matter of hours, has a following the size of a suburban Connecticut town.
Miraculously enough, nobody else in the world named Melissa McCarthy was registered under their own name, and @melissamccarthy was an available handle. It's the little things in life.
Judging by some of her Twitter gems so far, this seems like the beginning of something beautiful.
.@ecrichardson @YahooMovies @SpytheMovie I'm actually a spy in real life.. Not supposed to talk about it. Paul just followed me w/ a camera.
