When it comes to scandalous daytime television, Maury Povich pretty much has it down. He recently visited the Howard Stern SiriusXM radio show to discuss his upcoming 3000th episode, a feat that Stern said is not easy to pull off.

Before diving into to Povich's accomplishment, Stern revealed that they would be pranking Sal Governale with a DNA test.

The cast and crew would be in on the prank which will involved telling Governale that he is actually more Middle Eastern than he is Italian.

"Howard said Maury has had 3 syndicated shows in a row. Howard asked him about A Current Affair and how long he's been doing TV," according to MarksFriggin's rundown.

"Maury said he's been doing it 30 years. He said he had the Maury Povich Show and now Maury.

Howard said he wants to talk about the DNA testing that they did. Howard asked if they found anything odd. Maury said everyone tested out normal pretty much."

Povich began teasing that the results for Governale were quite different. When they had Governale came in, he seemed convince that they could be telling him he is not Italian.

Then Povich broke the news to Governale that he was more from Tunisia. Governale maintained that he and his family are 100% Italian.

After Stern and the show had their fun, Stern began telling Povich that he likes it when the people on the show get a little crazy. Meanwhile Stern and Povich continued to lead Governale on into the prank by saying that Donald Trump is going to get rid of Governale if he is elected.

Without wasting anymore time, Stern and Povich got into what brings the biggest reaction on the show. Povich believes that guys finding out they are not the father seems raise the biggest reactions.

Along with the big reactions, Povich says DNA, lie detector tests and out of control teens are pretty much the big themes. Povich also spoke on other shows trying to recreate what he does. Povich says that there is some kind of connection on his show.

That being said, he is no longer obsessed with the ratings. He has been number one since Oprah stopped airing but is in competition with Dr. Phil.

Maury is taped out of Connectitcut according to Stern and Povich is actually 77-years-old. Stern asked Povich about thinking about retirement, however, Povich says the Maury show has been sold for another two years by NBC.

"Howard asked Maury about his father who was a sports columnist. Howard said he was a big deal. Maury said he worked in the same building as Howard did back in Washington DC," according to MF.

"Howard said his dad was a big deal sports writer and Maury wanted to be a broadcaster. He wanted to do sports.

Maury said he did start at WWDC and he did the first 10 o'clock news in 1966.

He said he got tired of sports when he asked a coach what was in a big bottle of pills and the guy said 'Are you with us or against us?' and he said he had to get out of sports."

Povich shared some of his past experiences that included a story about his ex-wife Connie Chung, the fact that a woman has visited his show seven times with six kids and only knowing the fathers of three and the fact that they no longer run segments on highly overweight children.
