The cast of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" has been announced and among the main characters Hermione Granger will be played by Noma Dumezweni, a black woman who isn't receiving the support of all Harry Potter fans.

Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films took to Twitter to respond to some of the negativity surrounding the cast. Lewis stated that Neville Longbottom was blonde so he really didn't care.

From the sounds of the tweet it appears that Lewis doesn't get the negativity to the race and wished Dumezweni luck on her role in "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child."

Lewis wasn't the only one to respond either. The creator of Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling also tweeted in defense of the casting.

She pointed out that Hermione's skin color was never mentioned in the book but her characteristics such as her brown eyes and frizzy hair match that of the description of someone who could be either white or black.

Other Harry Potter stars like Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton have yet to respond.

Many are expecting Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger in the films to respond after all she is a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador. The majority of Harry Potter fans don't seem to get the big controversy over the decision but others are explaining their lack of support due to the picture they've had in their head for years.

The rest of the cast of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" includes Jamie Parker as Harry Potter and Paul Thornley as Ron Wesley.
